Get to Know the Official PyeongChang 2018 Mascots

Meet Soohorang and Bandabi.

The 2018 Winter Olympics kicked off last night with the help of some very adorable little kids, but take some time as well to get to know the adorable animals leading this year’s games – official mascots Bandabi and Soohorang.

Soohorang, the official mascot of the Olympic games, is a white tiger while Paralympic mascot Bandabi is an Asian black bear. Both are a good deal more cuddly than their real life counterparts, but white tigers are traditionally considered to be Korea’s guardian angel. The black bear is also the symbol of Gangwon Province, home to PyeongChang County.

And of course the Olympics is as much about the merch as it is about the sports, so there’s plenty of Soohorang and Bandabi toys and accessories you can pick up at the official PyeongChang store.
