New York parents, we’ve got your kid’s next sport lined up right here: this month Court 16 is inaugurating the first tennis court built specifically for families. The tennis company currently operates its flagship tennis court in Gowanus, Brooklyn and will open a new location in Long Island City, Queens. And this location will feature not only innovative technology like LED courts, but also specialized programs.

The Long Island City Court 16 will offer classes for kids ages two to 12, and hopes to facilitate a diverse and inclusive environment. The new center will offer programming tailored to children who have special needs, such as classes that utilize sound-adapted tennis balls for children who are visually impaired. Court 16’s classes can also aid kids on the autism spectrum with their motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

In addition to its classes, Court 16 will also host a retail space selling brands such as Lacoste and Alpha Industries and maintain a pop-up shop for new launches. Enrollment begins in mid-February, and until you can learn more about over at Court 16’s website. And be sure to read about how River Island is also celebrating inclusivity in its new campaign.
