Get the snacks ready.
For those of us in cold climates, February is prime time for watching some movies and TV shows at home with the family, and so we’ve compiled a list of the best movies to keep you entertained this month. Between the upcoming films that recently debuted new trailers at yesterday’s Super Bowl and the new movies arriving on Netflix, there’s a little something for everyone. Read on for our watch list for February.
We’re sure this one’s already on your radar. Marvel‘s latest movie sees Chadwick Boseman take on the role of the titular superhero for an action-packed adventure. Set in Wakanda, the story is sure to play an important role in setting up the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War. The movie has garnered a lot of buzz as the first superhero movie to feature a primarily black cast and has already broken records for pre-sale tickets. Little Miss Flint has even started a GoFundMe page to help kids in her hometown of Flint, Michigan to see the movie once it hits theaters on February 16.
The classic Beatrix Potter character finally gets the CGI animation it deserves. Voiced by James Corden, Peter Rabbit takes us on a fun-filled adventure with his animal friends as he competes with Thomas McGregor for Bea’s heart. With Corden’s trademark sense of humor on board we’re sure the movie will be a big hit. Mark your calendars for its debut on February 9.
Take the children to see something different from the usual animated feature with this stop-motion picture. Featuring the voices of Eddie Redmayne and Tom Hiddleston, the film is set in the prehistoric ages and follows Dug as he and his tribe try to save their homes from being taken from them. See Early Man when it hits theaters on February 16.
The Emoji Movie
Originally released in cinemas last July, The Emoji Movie is arriving to Netflix this month. As the title implies, the movie gives us a look inside the world of our favorite emojis. This light-hearted journey through Textopolis features the voices of James Corden and Sofía Vergara and will be available to stream from February 8.
Kids likely won’t remember this 2004 adaptation of Gail Carson Levine’s children’s fantasy novel, but they have the chance to get acquainted with the story as the movie is now available on Netflix. Anne Hathaway stars as Ella, who tries to win the heart of Prince Charmot while breaking an evil spell. Orginally released in 2004, this may serve as a good kid-friendly romantic film for Valentine’s Day.
